Elgin Schoolhouse State Historic Site is a state park property in Nevada, preserving a historic one-room schoolhouse that operated from 1922 to 1967.
Natural springs grow gardens of; wild grapevines, white oaks, fruit trees, willows and a spring-fed pond provides a refreshing children’s wading pool. Wild horses, deer and other wildlife come to the water and a series of trails wind throughout the park, making it a great for hiking, camping and picknicking.
Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is adjacent to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Used historically as a working ranch and luxury retreat by a string of colorful owners including German actress Vera Krupp and millionaire Howard Hughes. Today visitors can explore some of the oldest buildings in Nevada.
